OUR MISSION

CHOOSE LIFE (Christ Helping Others Overcome Struggles/Sin Effectively – Living In Freedom Everyday) is an addiction recovery programme, that provides material to assist upcoming facilitators to help addicts and alcoholics in their recovery journey while they face the most difficult times with a longing for sobriety. Most addicts and alcoholics typically reach out for help once they have hit rock bottom, losing everything. This makes it difficult for individuals who seek help, as the services available are extremely expensive. This is a simple programme of Disciples making Disciples.

CHOOSE LIFE provide online support to upcoming facilitators to build a worldwide Network of Support Groups. Our main goal is to equip facilitators with information to host Addiction/Alcohol Support Groups as well as Family Support Groups to restore people and relationships.

CHOOSE LIFE was founded in 2019 and has been birthed from personal experience with addiction. Over twenty-nine years of addiction, I attended institutes and rehabilitation centres forty-three times. During this time, I also came to faith and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I found myself living in two worlds, two cultures and one seemed ill-equipped to address the needs and questions of the other. The church attempted to answer my faith questions. Rehab programmes helped me understand my addiction. But there seemed to be a disconnect. Rehabs could not effectively integrate and provide answers related to faith and the church was largely ill-equipped to deal with and help me with my pain (inflicted on me by others and by myself) and addiction.

My heart desired to put together an easy-to-use material, that is informative, interactive, rooted in Scripture to encourage people struggling with drug and alcohol abuse.

CHOOSE LIFE is rooted in Scripture and a Biblical worldview but is a unique blend of combining AA/NA materials, the physiology of addiction, Psychology and practical tools and exercises. These have been drawn together as I attended various institutes, private, government and Christian rehabilitation centres and received discipleship in churches and through Christian organisations. Things that worked for me in these various settings and circumstances were put together. The result is this website you are currently viewing.

OUR VISION

CHOOSE LIFE’s vision is to offer help to those facilitators who have the heart and courage to work with substance abusers and their families. Our vision is to address this problem and create:

• A safe space for those in need, whether it is substance abusers or family members,
• Build a highly effective community-based network group to support addicts and alcoholics,
• Create prevention programmes and policies to be widely implemented.

Together we can make the world a better place and beat addiction. We can build loving, caring communities, accepting people just as they are by offering help and staying connected with God and with each other.
